AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 MKII

BT 7 1961 - SUPERB!

Finished in Healey Blue metallic with Navy/white piped, Navy hood, carpets and tonneau cover. Last owner 24 years (former director at Asprey London). The car was repatriated from Minneapolis USA, fully restored and converted to RHD. This is a rare early MKII car. By 1961, BMC opted to revisit the car with some pertinent updates to maintain its supremacy. In came the triple SU HS4 carbs, modified valve springs and a new high lift camshaft, along with a 4 speed gearbox with overdrive, in all producing 132 bhp. The new MK2 didn't reinvent the wheel - if it ain't broke, don't fix it! - But did re-energise the car ably. You could purchase it was the two-seater BN7, or this, the BT7 - which offered a pair of tiny jumper seats in the rear. We still think it's a bit cheeky to call it a four-seater (unless you have a pair of rhesus monkeys), but ours is not to reason why. Everything else is as close as you can get to pure motoring magic. It must be noted the car car was built at the Austin Healey factory in November/December 1961 and dispatched to Minneapolis in January 1962. Many £1,000's have been spent to bring the car up to the standard it is today, including but not limited to: New MWS stainless steel chrome wires, New tyres and whitewalls, Wet weather equipment (still boxed), dynamo refurb, battery cut off switch, headlight grills, fresh anti freeze, new brake fluid and fluid reservoir, new battery, carb refurb, oils, filters etc. Since circa 1990 the car had had in excess of £20,000 spent with invoices supplied. The Healey comes with all the appropriate documentation including Heritage certificate, Bills, invoices, receipts, literature, previous MOT's and tax discs. WSY 198 has covered approx 6,000 miles since its rebuild...OFFERS - P/X - SWAPS CONSIDERED - DOOR TO DOOR DELIVERY AVAILABLE, FREE WITHIN 100 MILE RADIUS…
